Who will be in goal for New York? That's still up in the air.
Henrik Lundqvist was given a "maintenance day" on Monday but did not practice on Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury. The injury is said to be minor but 31-year-old goaltender is officially listed by the Rangers as day-to-day.
Lundqvist has not been as sharp as we've come to expect this season as he is 2-4-0 with a 3.45 GAA and a .890 SV% in seven games this season. Historically he has been a Flyer-killer as he has posted a 25-12-3 record with a 2.52 GAA and a .914 SV% in 42 career games.
If Lundqvist cannot go, a new face will be between the pipes for the Rangers. With Martin Biron's retirement last week, Lundqvist's backups are Cam Talbot and Jason Missiaen with Talbot likely to start if Lundqvist is injured. Neither of the backups have ever played in the NHL.
With all of this being said, it would be a surprise not to see Lundqvist in net for New York on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center.
