Lurie said, “You’ve got to have the anger. You’ve got to have the motivation, the dedication, and the focus and the talent. My answer to those questions is yes. That’s why I want to see our team coached by Andy Reid next year, and I can’t wait to see that team play. There’s no doubt in my mind, if our focus is on trying to win a championship next year, the best coach for that is Andy.”
So Andy Reid is coming back….
Lurie went on to say "If I didn’t think that next year would be substantially better, then I’d be standing up here announcing a coaching change or other changes and that’s not what I think is going to happen."
So, for the past thirteen years, Lurie thought the following year was going to be substantially better. Lurie said that he would not be giving Reid an ultimatum. Lurie might not be giving Reid an ultimatum but the fans sure are. 97.5 The Fanatic’s Harry Mayes tweeted this earlier.
As of now, Andy Reid is the head coach of the Eagles and the owner is behind his coach. We will see how the fans react over the coming days, especially when Reid addresses the media.
