The 2012 Eagles were not committed to running the ball until recently after LeSean McCoy went down with a concussion. All year they have been full of mistakes, especially late in games. Bryce Brown has been a pleasant surprise this year rushing for 169+ yards in each his first two career starts but he has not played mistake-free football as he has fumbled in crucial situations late in both games.
Could you imagine the 2013 Eagles having rushing balance with Brown and McCoy the way the 2003 Eagles had balance with Buckhalter and Westbrook? Eagles beat writer Zach Berman writes that Brown’s performance could force the Eagles to move this direction.
“Despite costly fumbles, Brown's skills have made him a likely part of the offense even when McCoy returns.”
If McCoy returns to a healthy state and Brown is half as effective as he has been in the last two games, the Eagles could boast an extremely scary running game. A running game that would help a young quarterback gradually get established in the NFL.
