Rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week in his first week of NBA action. The only other player to win the award in his first week of NBA action was Shaquille O'Neal.
Carter-Williams, 22, is averaging 20.7 points, 9.0 assists, and 4.7 rebounds-per-game in three games last week leading the Sixers to a 3-0 start on the year. He has put up a double-double in two of the first three games.
