The NBA announced Sixers' point guard Michael Carter-Williams has won the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for the month of March. Carter-Williams is the first player franchise history to win Rookie of the Month three times having won the award for the months of November and January.
Carter-Williams, 22, has been the league's top rookie leading all rookies in points (16.5), assists (6.3), rebounds (6.1) and steals (2.0) per game. He played well in March averaging 14.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game while posting five games with 11 or more rebounds.
Despite the 26-game losing streak, Carter-Williams has persevered through the team's poor play and his up-and-down February. He has proven to be a special player this season for the Sixers as he put up these kind of numbers despite not having many weapons outside of Thaddeus Young.
