The NBA announced Sixers point guard Michael Carter-Williams was named the NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for the month of April. It was the franchise record fourth month of the year in which Carter-Williams won the award; he already had the franchise record after his third Rookie of the Month.
The only two months this year in which Carter-Williams did not win the award were December and February. The 22-year-old finished the year leading all rookies in scoring (16.7), assists (6.3), rebounds (6.2) and steals (1.9). He is just the third player in the modern era to lead rookies in those categories joining Oscar Robertson and Alvan Adams.
