The Flyers announced on Wednesday left winger Michael Raffl will be out six weeks with a lower body injury. Raffl suffered the injury in the third period of Tuesday night's 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers when he went down to block a Mark Fayne shot. Raffl took the shot off the back of his leg and hobbled off the ice.
Raffl, 25, has emerged as a solid winger alongside Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek on the Flyers top line. He is tied for the team-lead with six goals in 12 games this season. He recorded nine goals in 68 games last season, his first in the NHL.
