The Sixers opened their Orlando Pro Summer league schedule yesterday in Orlando and all eyes were on 2013 sixth overall pick Nerlens Noel, who was making his professional debut after missing all of last season recovering from a torn ACL.
Noel, 20, had an impressive game scoring 19 points, leading all 76ers, on 6-for-11 shooting from the field. The 6'10" forward also went 7-for-7 from the free throw line which was a noted improvement over his 52.9% shooting from the charity stripe in college. Noel had four steals, three assists, two rebounds and one monster block.
The Sixers plan to rest Noel for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder as he eases back into playing games on a daily basis.
