This is about as political as you will see Whiz Wit get but with a heavy following from New Jersey - this is a must read.
New Jersey Governor, and noted Mets fan, Chris Christie was on sports radio in New York, WFAN 660, yesterday with Boomer & Carton (Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton). They touched on a wide-range of topics involving sports and the topic of the Phillies came up.
Christie went on to explain that he hates the Phillies "almost as much as I hate the Yankees" which is saying a lot considering, once again, he's a Mets fan. Delving deeper on the subject of the Phillies, Christie called Ruben Amaro Jr. "awful" and that the organization handled the Charlie Manuel firing "disgracefully."
I cannot say that I disagree with Christie on the Manuel thing. His honesty has won over millions, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, but this little revelation might sway some on-the-fence Phillies fan voters come the 2016 Presidential Election.
