The NFL product this year is just not that good. Take out the Patriots and the rest of the league is slop. Do you really believe Carolina is a good team? Cinci, Arizona, Denver, Minnesota? Come on. Some say parity is a good thing. I think it makes for shit football. Games like Titans vs Jags make a great case for contraction. Can you watch a play and tell me what a catch is? How about 80% of kicks featuring a block in the back or holding call. Pass Interference, especially in the Eagles Dallas game was as big a grey area as Joy Behar's bikini line.
I love football, and I hate to sound like a scorned betting man. But I am not alone. Sure the League is a money making machine. Fantasy Football, Daily Fantasy, games overseas, Monday Night, Thursday Night, soon to be Saturday Night. But celebrity refs, constant flags, the whole cycle of TD, PAT, commercial break, Kickoff, commercial break makes it really hard to watch a game anymore...even when I'm not wagering. This week I am taking a break from NFL. I work too hard finding winners to give it back on Sunday. As Phil Leotardo once said "No more Butchy, no more"
Western Kentucky Team Total OVER 41 - coming off a bye week the Hilltoppers get a favorable matchup. FIU gives up big points to teams like Marshall, Charlotte, ODU. But don't be fooled, they can score a little especially at home when vying for bowl eligibility. This is the reason we aren't playing the side. You may be surprised to know WKU isn't fairing well against the spread this season. But we have had plenty of winners with them. It's all about picking your spots.
NAVY 1H - 7 & OVER 34.5 1H Reverse. Navy is going to score on the Golden Hurricane that much is clear. Tulsa can move the ball and they can get one in the first half. The option of Navy will likely score 28+ in the half. All you are asking is for Tulsa to score 1 at home. Put your trust in Navy to be able to cover this alone, but a Hurricane touchy helps. At the same time 35-0 isn't a crazy thought.
Southern Miss 1H - 10.5 vs ODU - Don't over think it. Southern Miss is head and shoulders above ODU. They can score with anyone in CUSA and ODU couldn't stop me and 10 friends from getting in the endzone...and I have some pretty unathletic friends. 31-10 at the half sounds about right. There is a team total play in here too. 41 points is well within reach.
SMU Team Total OVER 29 - those of you who know me and have followed the blog understand that I love to bet on bad football. Well here is another good example. SMU is terrible. Tulane might be worse! This matchup will be one of the least bet on games in Vegas but that doesn't make it any less valuable to us. Prime time game, at SMU for a team that just needs to win. The Mustangs have been scoring points, that is not an issue. The Green Wave is as inept offensively as SMU is on the other side of the ball. This means possessions for the Stangs...possessions that become touchys.
Uncle Radar is back in the USA, the greatest country in the world. My stay in Thailand was enjoyable, if not blurry, but it's great to be home. I thought by the time I got back the Eagles would be on track and we would wind up 11-5 and win the division. WRONG. I can honestly say, and I've given this a lot of thought, this is the most frustrating Eagles team in the 50 years I've been a fan. I'm talking a solid 50 years. You don't know how this team is going to do from play to play, not series to series , quarter to quarter, or game to game. Every offensive play is a new adventure, and I don't see it getting any better. There IS stability on the defensive side thank God. It is very, very frustrating I know I'm not saying anything we all don't feel, but let's face it we're all frustrated. I'm sure we're all feeling mad , disappointed, disillusioned, hopeless, helpless, despair, and at times ready to throw in the towel. Frustration is what I feel strongest. I'm more frustrated than R. Kelly at a Soph Hop, more frustrated than Caitlin Jenner trying to find a dress in size 62, I'm even more frustrated than Spike Lee and Steven A, Smith realizing that the player bringing their beloved Knicks back to mediocrity is a white guy, now that's frustration. I'm too jet lagged to make a pick, and with the way I've been going it's for the best......Make sure you guys catch the 30 for 30 short on legendary former Eagles owner Leonard Tose, a larger than life, true Damon Runyon character, it will make you proud to be an Eagle fan.
