Reports have surfaced that Flyers team president Peter Luukko has resigned as president of Comcast-Spectacor effective immediately. Former Comcast cable division president Dave Scott will act as interim president. The Philadelphia Daily News' Frank Seravalli reports Luukko wanted to "monetize his interest in the company and pursue other entrepreneurial endeavors."
Luukko has been part of Philadelphia hockey since 1993 when he took over as president of The Spectrum. In addition to his role with Comcast-Spectacor and the Flyers, Luukko also served on the the NHL Board of Governors.
It is also of note that the Flyers drafted Luukko's son, Nick, in 2010 - a move that had many people calling for the elimination of nepotism in the Flyers front office.
