The Lehigh Valley Phantoms announced they have signed free agent center Darroll Powe to an AHL contract. Powe played with the Phantoms from 2006-08 before spending part of the 2008-09 season with the Phantoms and getting called up to the Flyers.
Powe, 29, spent three seasons with the Flyers from 2008-11 scoring 22 goals and adding 21 assists for 43 points. The 5'11" defensive forward was traded in June 2011 for a 2013 third-round pick, which was later traded to the Dallas Stars for Nicklas Grossmann. In 2010-11, Powe was second on the team in shorthanded time on ice and first in hits (196).
He played in only one game in 2013-14 for the New York Rangers.
