Which brings us to the question - who else is interested in what the Phillies have to offer? CSN Philly's Jim Salisbury is reporting that the Yankees are a good fit for the Phillies and have also been looking at Carlos Ruiz as a possible catching upgrade from their current stable.
Salisbury also points out that Michael Young, and even Chase Utley, could play first base to fill in for the oft-injured Mark Teixeira. The Yankees are still in the thick of the division race at 42-34 and 2.5 games out of first place.
I don't really like the Yankees so I don't want to help them out in any way but if they are willing to pay fair market value for some of the Phillies assets who could walk at the end of the season - then be my guest.
