Player to Watch: 2B Daniel Murphy - Murphy has registered a hit in 10 of his last 11 games and enters the series batting .274/.306/.392 with 10 home runs and 58 RBIs on the season. The 28 year old is batting .299/.339/.448 with three home runs and 26 RBIs in 51 career starts against the Phillies. In 269 games at Citi Field, Murphy is batting .295/.334/.431 with 15 home runs and 107 RBIs.

Player to Watch: 1B Anthony Rizzo - Rizzo has struggled of late batting just .182/.273/.364 with five home runs and nine RBIs in the month of August. The 24 year old is batting .231/.324/.427 with 20 home runs and 69 RBIs this season. He celebrated his birthday in Philadelphia on August 8th. In three games (two starts) against the Phillies earlier this month, Rizzo went 2-for-11 with a double and a solo home run. In 111 games at Wrigley Field, Rizzo is batting .261/.347/.466 with 19 home runs and 63 RBIs.

The improved play of some of the young guys has Phillies fans looking forward to the future. Third baseman Cody Asche, 23, is batting .253/.300/.413 with two home runs and 12 RBIs in the month of August. He has a seven game hit streak in which he is hitting .346 (9-for-26) with three extra-base hits and four RBIs.
First baseman/outfielder Darin Ruf is having a good year batting .272/.360/.543 with 11 home runs and 19 RBIs in 151 at bats this season. Nine of the 11 home runs and 15 of the 19 RBIs have come in 87 August at-bats. In the last four games, Ruf has three home runs and six RBIs.
