Today the team announced that Revere will have surgery tomorrow performed by foot and ankle specialist Dr. Steven Rainkin at the Rothman Institute at Jefferson Hospital. He will be out for 6-to-8 weeks recovering.
Revere was enjoying the best season of his career. At the time of his injury, he was hitting .305/.338/.352 with no home runs and 17 RBI. The worst part is that Revere was beginning to heat up. In his last 23 games, he was hitting .382/.409/.461 with nine RBI.
The loss of Revere now puts the Phillies back on the market for a centerfielder. Some names that could be available and of interest to the Phillies are Mets RF Marlon Byrd, A's CF Chris Young, and Tigers CF Don Kelly.
