The Phillies announced today that an MRI on Erik Kratz's knee reveal a tear in his meniscus that will require surgery. A timetable for his return will not be known until after the procedure.
After a slow start to the season, the 33 year old catcher hit .286 with four home runs and seven RBI in the month of May. He continued into June as he had two home runs and eight RBI in 30 June at-bats.
