The Phillies infielder get off to a bad start as he contracted MRSA during spring training and had to be hospitalized. Upon his return, he coulnd't get anything done at the plate and was recently demoted to Triple-A.
Things went from bad to worse on Sunday. The Philadelphia Daily News' Ryan Lawrence reports Galvis suffered a fractured clavicle on Sunday and will be out 6-to-8 weeks. Galvis reportedly injured the collarbone when sliding into a wall trying to catch a foul ball against the Gwinnett Braves.
How bad was Galvis at the plate with the Phillies this season? Bad. He was 2-for-42 with three walks sporting a slash line of .048/.109/.048. Both of his hits were singles and he has one RBI on the season. The fractured clavicle won't help him get back on the right track.
