MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports former Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer interviewed this week to be the Phillies color analyst for television broadcasts along side play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy. Moyer is reportedly up for the job along with former Phillies Mitch Williams, Mickey Morandini, and Kevin Stocker.
Moyer, 51, pitched for the Phillies from 2006-2010 including leading the Phillies in wins in 2008 going 16-7 with a 3.91 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. In parts of five seasons in Philadelphia, Moyer went 56-40 with a 4.55 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. The lefty is a local product who pitched at Souderton High School and at Saint Joseph's University.
As a Saint Joseph's University alumnus, I want this. As a Phillies fan, I want this. Please, after all of the questionable decisions made this off-season, make one that Phillies fans can actually be happy with.
