The Philadelphia Daily News' Ryan Lawrence reports Phillies starter Jonathan Pettibone received a cortisone shot in his right pitching shoulder on Monday. Pettibone will be out for the next five days and will hopefully throw again on Saturday. The 23-year-old's 2013 season was shut down due to shoulder soreness in his right shoulder.
In 18 starts during the 2013 season for the Phillies, he was 5-4 with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. Pettibone was not originally part of the 25 man roster but injuries to Roy Halladay and John Lannan threw Pettibone into the mix.
