Player to Watch: 3B David Wright - The National League starting third baseman for the All-Star Games is having another very productive season. He is hitting .304/.396/.507 with 13 home runs and 43 RBI this season. He had a phenomenal month of June hitting .343/.402/.608 with five home runs and 11 RBI. He is hitting .304/.426/.429 in July. Wright has feasted on Phillies pitching hitting .283/.350/.510 with 28 home runs and 100 RBI in 149 career games. Surprisingly, his numbers against the Phillies are not as good as his career numbers of .301/.382/.506

The Phillies are only 22-27 (.449) on the road this season but will have to turn that around if they want to convince management that they are contenders. The Phillies are on the road for their first nine game after the All-Star break and do not return home until July 30th, one day before the trade deadline. The Phillies went 5-5 on their last road trip and the end of June/beginning of July.
Their recent play has been promising to say the least. The Phillies have found their stride by winning four straight series and five of their last six series. Another thing they have working for them is the division's best inter-division record as the Phillies are 24-14 against NL East opponents.
This week Domonic Brown and Cliff Lee will participate for the National League at the MLB All-Star Game at Citi Field in New York. The game begins Tuesday night at 8:00 pm and can be seen on FOX.
