The Phillies had a later start to Sunday's series finale against the Washington Nationals thanks to the annual Broad Street Run which ends just past the sports complex at the Navy Yard. In order to avoid the traffic and the parking issues, Sandberg used Uber Philly to take him to the game.
Unfortunately for Sandberg, the Uber driver got lost and he missed the exit for the stadium and ended up down by the airport. When he came back up, he was on the other side of Broad Street in traffic. The 54-year-old Sandberg got out and walked the last mile to the ballpark but was still on the wrong side of Broad Street.
With his briefcase in hand, Sandberg ran about 50 feet of the Broad Street run with other runners to get through the pack and over to Citizens Bank Park.
