Many are beginning to have their doubts.
Some like to point the finger at manager Charlie Manuel - his decision making has been called into question in recent days. Others like to point the finger at general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. calling for his firing.
It sounds like those in the "Ruben Amaro Jr. is the reason this team sucks" camp are going to be disappointed with what team president David Montgomery came out with to The Philadelphia Inquirer. Bob Brookover writes,
"The reality is that when things don't go well, people look to find, well, whose fault is it?" Montgomery said. "I believe in situations like this that when times are good there's enough credit to go around. It's all of us. Ruben is not making independent decisions. He's going with a pretty good group of eyes who are looking out there at players and making determinations. God knows we're all trying to bat 1.000 on decision making. The reality is, I think we do better than the .300 standard in baseball."
The Phillies have three at home against the Mets before heading west for a three game series with the upstart San Diego Padres. Hopefully Amaro's squad and get it straightened out!
