The Phillies placed reliever Michael Stutes on the 15 day disabled list with biceps tendinitis. Stutes, 26, was 2-1 with a 5.17 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP in 14 games for the Phillies this season.
Stutes was placed on the disabled list one day after reliever Mike Adams was placed on the DL with biceps tendinitis. Adams, 34, is concerned over somethings that appeared in an MRI. He will travel with the team to San Diego and will see Dr. Neal ElAttrache to get a second opinion on his arm. In 28 games this season for the Phillies, Adams is 1-4 with a 3.96 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP.
So to aid the erratic bullpen, the Phillies recalled erratic reliever Phillippe Aumont from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Aumont, 24, is 1-3 with a 4.15 ERA and 2.08 WHIP in 16 games with the Phillies this season. Aumont, acquired in December 2009 for Cliff Lee, has shown flashes of greatness but has had command issues.
I don't think this is what Phils fans meant when they said they enjoyed roller coaster rides.
