CSN Philly's Jim Salisbury reports that shortstop Roman Quinn has ruptured his Achilles tendon running sprints during his offseason workouts at home.
Quinn, 20, is listed as the Phillies third best prospect according to MLB.com and fifth best prospect according to Baseball America. Quinn has plus speed rating an 8 on the 2-8 scale which makes this injury concerning. He has already had surgery on the Achilles and has begun rehab which is a positive sign.
Quinn will likely miss the entire 2014 season.
