The Philadelphia Daily News' David Murphy reports the Phillies and Comcast Sportsnet along with NBCUniversal have reached an agreement to extend their current partnership. The terms of the deal were not disclosed but The Bucks County Courier Times' Kevin Cooney cites a source stating the deal is between 20-25 years and the deal is "massive."
The Phillies will now have even more money to spend. High-priced free agents? No problem anymore. I wouldn't mind spending some of this "massive" amount of money on scouting - both domestic and international. The farm system needs an overhaul so let's find the right talent to build it back up.
