According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Phillies are shopping some players "aggressively" including starting third baseman Michael Young. Two names that Olney notes are not being "marketed" by the Phillies to other teams are Cliff Lee and Chase Utley.
This goes hand-in-hand with the other report that teams have been told Utley is not available in a trade as the Phillies are looking to re-sign the 34 year old second baseman. Lee, who turns 35 in August, is guaranteed $50 million the next two seasons that includes a $27.5 million vesting option for 2016 as well.
I don't think there should be any untouchables on the Phillies except Dom Brown and Cole Hamels. This team has an aging core and, if they can acquire some younger talent for them, I don't see why they don't pull the trigger. This season appears to be lost as they are seven games under .500 right now and stand 11 games back in the NL East.
