After being swept by the Atlanta Braves in a four-game series over the weekend, the Phillies have made a move - small one but a move nonetheless. The Phillies announced they have traded infielder Ronny Cedeno to the Arizona Diamondbacks for catcher Raywilly Gomez.
Cedeno, 31, didn't get a hit in nine at-bats with the Phillies this season. He was batting .286/.327/.367 with one home run and 20 RBIs in 42 games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Gomez, who turned 24 in January, is batting .273/.355/.360 with three home runs and 22 RBIs in 55 games for Double-A Mobile. Gomez began to heat up in the month of June batting .333/.387/.333 with seven RBIs in 16 games in the month.
