RHP Worley (11-2, 2.92 ERA) is 3-1 in his last five starts.
LHP Garcia (12-7, 3.68) had a rough August recording zero wins in his five starts but has bounced back nicely in September picking up wins in his first two starts against Cincinnati and Atlanta.
The Phillies look to bounce back after losing Worley’s last start on Sunday against the Brewers. Prior to Sunday, the Phillies had won each of Worley’s previous 14 starts. With two wins yesterday, the Phillies have already matched their win total from 2010 with 97 wins.
There will be a lot of scoreboard watching tonight, particularly at the Braves-Mets game tonight. With a win and a Braves loss, the Phillies could clinch their fifth straight NL East Division crown. The Cardinals are 4 ½ games behind the Braves in the Wild Card and realize the importance of this four game series in Philadelphia.
The Cardinals will be without Matt Holliday for the remainder of their road trip with an inflamed tendon in his middle figure. The Cardinals suffer a huge loss with Holliday going down and the Phillies are grateful because Holliday has been known to cause havoc for the Phillies (see: 2007 NLDS).
First pitch tonight is at 7:05pm at Citizens Bank Park. It is going to be on the colder side again tonight in South Philly.
