LHP Hamels (14-9, 2.80 ERA) went seven innings giving up four runs on seven hits, while striking out nine with no walks on Sunday night against the Cardinals. The Mets are not the team Hamels wants to face right now because, this year, he is 1-2 with a 9.64 ERA.
RHP Dickey (8-13, 3.35 ERA) had a quality start in his last start vs. the Braves on Saturday. He went 7 2/3 innings allowing just one run on three hits in a 1-0 loss.
The Phillies six game skid certainly has been well documented. The Phillies have hit only .221 over their losing streak and their pitchers ERA has ballooned over the last six games to 4.42. The Mets do not come as the hottest team in the league either. The Mets have dropped 11 out of their last 15 games.
The Phillies expect Hunter Pence to be back this weekend. The Phillies are going to work their starters back into a routine to get ready for Game 1 of the NLDS at Citizens Bank Park on October 1st.
First pitch tonight is slated for 7:05pm. Keep an eye on the weather.
