RHP Oswalt (8-9, 3.66 ERA) is coming off his last start, which just so happens to be the last time the Phillies won, in which he went 7 innings, gave up no earned runs, and got the W as the Phillies clinched their fifth straight NL East Title.
RHP Peacock (1-0, 1.42 ERA) is coming off his first career Major League start last Wednesday against the Mets. Peacock went 5 innings allowing no runs and striking out 2. He had one appearance out of the bullpen in which he threw 1 1/3 innings and allowed one run on four hits.
As for the rest of the Phillies, we mentioned last night that the Phillies 1-4 hitters went 0-for-16 with two walks and one run scored while the 5-9 hitters went 10-for-19 with four runs scored and five RBI in last night’s 7-5 loss. John Mayberry Jr. lead the Phillies offense with three hits, three runs scored, two RBI, a home run, and a stolen base.
Tonight is the last Phillies regular season home game of 2011. After tonight they head up to Citi Field to play three games with the Mets and then down to Atlanta where they have three games at Turner Field against the Braves. Those three against the Braves are going to mean a lot for the Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals who sit a game and a half back in the NL Wild Card.
