The Flyers announced they have place three players on waivers with the intent of sending them to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Waiving three players leaves the Flyers at 22 players on their roster not counting injured defensemen Chris Pronger and Kimmo Timonen along with injured forward Ryan White. That means Jason Akeson and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare have made the Flyers roster as it currently stands.
Akeson, 24, played in the last game of the regular season for the Flyers registering one assist. He played in all seven playoff games for the Flyers making an impact scoring two goals, including the only Game Seven goal, and adding an assist. In 70 games for the Phantoms last season, Akeson scored 24 goals and added 40 assists for 64 points.
Bellemare, 29, played the last five seasons in the Swedish Hockey League playing for Skelleftea. In 2013-14 the left winger scored 20 goals and dished out 15 assists for 35 points in 52 games. The 6'0", 196 lbs. winger also played for France in the 2014 IIHF World Championships scoring three goals and adding five assists in eight games. He signed with the Flyers in June.
