ESPN's Andy Katz reports the Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to get Australian point guard Dante Exum in for a last-minute interview and pre-draft workout. Cleveland owns the No. 1 overall selection in this year's draft but are also shopping the pick.
The Sixers, along with the Magic and Jazz, all made intriguing offers to the Cavaliers for the top pick. Philadelphia offered forward Thaddeus Young and the No. 3 overall pick to Cleveland. The Jazz offered forward Derrick Favors and the No. 5 overall pick. Orlando came through with a major offer of guard Aaron Aflalo, No. 4 overall and the 12th overall pick for No. 1 overall. The Magic are thought to have the best offer on the table.
There are two possible scenarios here. If the Cavaliers are looking to move down, Exum might not be there past the Sixers pick at No. 3 so could the trade be with the Sixers? Who knows. If Cleveland is looking to take Exum No. 1 overall, then Wiggins could slide to Philadelphia at No. 3 as many believe the Milwaukee Bucks have Jabari Parker rated higher than Wiggins.
Then there is the question, why would the Cavaliers draft Exum with Kyrie Irving?
All of these questions likely won't be answered before the draft tomorrow night. This could be a whole lot of noise about nothing but it is certainly an interesting revelation. The Cavaliers shocked everyone last year selecting Anthony Bennett No. 1 overall so Cleveland could shock us all again this year.
