Just hours after the Eagles made it official that they have signed left tackle Jason Peters to a five-year contract extension, The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reports the Eagles are expected to lock up center Jason Kelce to a "long-term deal sometime in the near future." The announcement of a deal could come as early as Thursday morning with a formal press conference in the afternoon.
Kelce, 26, has been an absolute gem for the Eagles since being drafted in the sixth round (191st overall) in the 2011 draft. He has locked down the Eagles offensive line as the team's center since his rookie season but missed most of the 2012 season after tearing his ACL in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens. With Peters extension, Kelce is the only remaining starting offensive lineman not signed through 2016.
