The Eagles have signed Knott to their practice squad according to Knott's Twitter account. Knott was serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. To make room on the practice squad, the Eagles released linebacker Brandon Hepburn and offensive lineman Tyler Hoover.
The Eagles released a statement at the time of Knott's suspension,"We’re very disappointed to learn of [Knott's] suspension. We have spoken to Jake and he is fully aware of the mistake he made and owned it. The key for Knott, however, is to learn from that mistake and move forward with his preparation for the 2014 season."
The 2013 undrafted rookie out of Iowa State recorded six total tackles in 12 games played last season for the Eagles playing primarily on special teams. Depending on the status of Mychal Kendricks' calf injury, Knott could get a chance to make his way onto the 53-man roster.
