NFL's Adam Caplan is reporting that a league source says Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin tore his ACL this morning during training camp. Maclin, who enters the last year of his rookie contract, injured his right knee during a 7-on-7 drill without any contact. He started off the line during a drill and just collapsed grabbing his right leg. He was carted off the field.
Maclin, 25, was in visible pain on the field with his hands covering his face. The Eagles announced he would undergo an MRI this afternoon and it reportedly revealed the worst. He suffered the same injury in the same knee seven years ago while playing for the Missouri Tigers. He will be out for the season.
Last season with the Eagles, Maclin caught 69 passes for 857 yards and seven touchdowns. In four full seasons in Philadelphia, he has pulled in 258 balls for 3,453 yards and 26 touchdowns. Maclin has only missed five games in his career.
Big loss for the Eagles.
