The Providence Journal's Mark Divver reports Boston College free agent forward Kevin Hayes is spending his Sunday listening to potential NHL suitors and will narrow his list to "four or five" teams by Monday. Broad Street Hockey's Collin Mehalick reports the Flyers have executives in Massachusetts on Sunday to meet with Hayes.
Hayes, 22, scored 27 goals and added 38 assists for 65 points in 40 games last season for Boston College. The 6'3", 205 lbs. can play a two-way game but his offensive game is where he makes his impact. He can create plays and space for his teammates with his large frame on the right wing.
The Flyers, a team coming off of a playoff appearance, could offer Hayes an opportunity to make the team out of training camp which would give them a strong selling point. They are going to have trouble competing with Hayes' hometown Bruins, who lost right winger Jarome Iginla this summer.
