The Flyers have been searching for a consistent left wing to pair with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek on their top line. The Winnipeg Jets are reportedly open to trading 23-year-old Evander Kane but TSN's Bob McKenzie reports the Flyers interest is "lukewarm or less, likely scared off by what is expected to be a high asking price" right now.
Kane has been involved in off-ice issues with teammates in recent weeks, and in the past. He also opted for season-ending shoulder surgery last week but can still be moved before the March 2nd trade deadline.
Kane, 23, scored 10 goals and added 12 assists for 22 points in 37 games this season for the Jets. His best season came in 2011-12 when he scored 30 goals and dished out 27 assists for 57 points. He carries a $5.25 million cap hit through 2017-18.
