CSN Philly's Tim Panaccio is reporting that the Flyers are talking to the Edmonton Oilers regarding forward Jordan Eberle. The Oilers arrived in Philadelphia today for a 1:00 pm tilt with the Flyers tomorrow at the Wells Fargo Center.
Eberle, 23, has three goals and 10 assists in 17 games this season. He scored 16 goals and added 21 assists in the lockout-shortened season last year but his last 82-game season was productive as he scored 34 goals and dished out 42 assists for 76 points in 78 games.
Acquiring a 23-year-old winger of Eberle's ability will certainly come for a price and will require the Flyers to get a bit creative. Not only will they have to give up talent but they will also have to create some cap space as Eberle carries a $6 million cap hit through the 2018-19 season.
