FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that there is heavy interest in Michael Young with as many as a dozen clubs kicking the tires on Young. Two big teams in contention that are reportedly interested are the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
The 36 year old Young was acquired by the Phillies in December from the Texas Rangers. He is hitting .288/.344/.414 with six home runs and 28 RBI. Young is increasing his stock over the last two months. He hit .333/.339/.500 in June and is following it up by hitting .298/.346/.447.
The non-waiver trade deadline is July 31st.
