Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports the Phillies are having internal discussions about moving third baseman Cody Asche to the outfield for the 2015 season to make room for the organization's top prospect, third baseman Maikel Franco. Rosenthal mentions the Phillies hope Asche could turn out to be their version of Royals third baseman-turned-outfielder Alex Gordon.
Asche went 7-for-15 (.467) in the four games since the error-filled game last Tuesday and went 7-for-12 (.583) with a home run and six RBIs in the Phillies series victory over the Reds over the weekend. Asche, 23, is batting .259/.344/.444 with four home runs and 18 RBIs in 37 games this season for the Phillies.
