Fox Sports is reporting that the Phillies are listening to offers from multiple teams for Lee. The price tag is reportedly high for Lee which has some people around the league questioning the value of taking on Lee's contract along with giving up big time talent. Fox's Jon Paul Morosi reports that a deal for Lee could go on beyond the Wednesday deadline as Lee would likely clear waivers.
Lee, 34, is 10-4 with a 3.05 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP with 131 strikeouts in 144.2 innings of work. Opponents are hitting just .230 off of him this year. A concern has arisen about his health as he missed his start on Saturday due to a stiff neck.
Lee is owed $50 million the next two seasons that includes a $27.5 million vesting option for 2016 as well. He has drawn significant trade interest from teams such as the Dodgers and Red Sox.
