General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. is stuck at a crossroads as he tries to decide to buy pieces to add to his wildly inconsistent team or sell off valuable assets of an aging core to try and re-tool for the future.
CSN Philly reports that manager Charlie Manuel does not think the team is close on any deal - buying or selling. Manuel states that the Phillies are talking to every team in baseball but that no deal is imminent.
In many cases deals happen quickly. Casual talking can get to serious trade discussion in a hurry so, six days away from the non-waiver trade deadline, this isn't too much to fret about. If we are having the same discussion next Tuesday, then it is time to panic.
