The Sixers are looking to capitalize on the Celtics misfortune as they chase down a playoff spot for the third straight season under Doug Collins. In the process of chasing down the Celtics, the 76ers might be getting some much needed help. The Philadelphia Inquirer’s John Mitchell is reporting that an NBA league source says that injured center Andrew Bynum could be back before the All-Star Break. The Inquirer’s Bob Ford takes it one step further citing Sixers general manager Tony DiLeo that the team is targeting the All Star Break for Bynum as well.
“According to general manager Tony DiLeo, the team believes that Bynum could begin full practice by the end of this week and might be in uniform shortly thereafter barring a setback to his creaky knees… If there are no setbacks, the organization quietly is hoping to have Bynum play in a game or two before the all-star break, which begins Feb. 14.”
