The Sixers have been without a head coach since Doug Collins resigned on April 18th. The Sixers have had interest in some guys, including Larry Brown, but nothing has come from it. The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the Sixers have interest in Denver Nuggets assistant coach Melvin Hunt.
The report states that the Sixers have not requested permission to interview Hunt mostly due to the fact that Denver doesn't have a general manager as former GM Masai Uriji bolted for the Toronto Raptors.
Another problem has arisen. The Nuggets recently fired current head coach George Karl which leaves the Nuggets position open and reports are beginning to surface that the Nuggets might be interested in promoting Hunt.
Hunt, 43, has spent the last three years as the Nuggets top assistant coach. Prior to joining Denver, Hunt spent five seasons as a top assistant of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Baylor-graduate also spent time as assistants with the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.
