NJ.com's Eliot Shorr-Parks reports Sixers point guard Michael Carter-Williams has been named the 2013-14 NBA Rookie of the Year according to a league source. Carter-Williams won the NBA Rookie of the Month a franchise-record four times this season leaving December and February as the only months he didn't win the award.
The 22-year-old finished the year leading all rookies in scoring (16.7), assists (6.3), rebounds (6.2) and steals (1.9). He is just the third player in the modern era to lead rookies in those categories joining Oscar Robertson and Alvan Adams. Carter-Williams is the first 76er to win the award since Allen Iverson in 1996-97.
