Y! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Sixers have traded center Spencer Hawes to the Cleveland Cavaliers in return for two second-round picks. There is more to the deal as the salary swap does not add up at this point.
Hawes, 25, is enjoying the best statistical season of his career averaging career-highs in points with 13.0 per game and rebounds at 8.5 per. The 7'1" center's play has dropped off recently scoring zero, six and two points in three of the last four games. He has been held to eight points or fewer in six of the 76ers last nine games, all losses.
He has more value to the Sixers elsewhere than on a 40-loss team. Moving him was the right move for both teams involved.
