Late in the third period of the Flyers' 5-2 win over the Sabres on Sunday night, Philadelphia forward Scott Hartnell carried the puck into the Buffalo zone and fired a wristshot at the net. The shot caught Sabres defenseman Christian Ehrhoff in the ear as he went down then very quickly got to the Sabres' dressing room.
Following the game, Ehrhoff tweeted out a picture of his split right ear saying it took about 40 stitches to close the wound.
Don't ever say that hockey players aren't tough. That's gruesome to look at.
