Los Angeles Times Clippers' beat writer Brad Turner reports the Sixers have acquired center Byron Mullens from the Clippers for a second-round draft pick.
Mullens, 25, joins Eric Maynor as the second 2009 first-round pick to be acquired by the Sixers this afternoon. Mullens was selected four picks after Maynor by the Mavericks at 24th overall out of Ohio State. The 7'0", 275 lbs. center is averaging 2.5 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.2 minutes per game in 27 games this year for Los Angeles. In 53 games last year for Charlotte, Mullens averaged 10.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
Mullens is slated to make $947,000 this season with a player-option of around $1 million for next season.
I guess he will replace Hawes for the rest of this season. I don't know.
