Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Sixers have acquired center JaVale McGee and a 2015 first-round pick, via Oklahoma City, from the Denver Nuggets. 97.3 ESPN's Derek Bodner reports the Sixers will send the rights to Cent Akyol to Denver.
The first-round pick is a top-18 protected pick in 2015 and a top-15 protected pick in 2016 and 2017.
McGee, 27, is owed $11.25 million this season and $12 million next season before becoming an unrestricted free agent. The 7'0", 237 lbs. center known for his dunking and shot blocking ability has appeared in only 22 games for the Nuggets over the last two seasons.
The trade deadline is 3:00 pm today.
