The Sixers announced on Friday they have acquired point guard Marquis Teague and a 2019 second-round draft pick from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for point guard Casper Ware. Teague was a first-round pick in the 2012 draft by the Chicago Bulls.
Teague, 21, appeared in 40 games last season between the Bulls and Nets averaging 2.7 points and 1.5 assists in 11.1 minutes per game. He also spent time in the NBA D-League.
Ware, 24, signed two 10-day contracts with the Sixers last season and appeared in nine games at the end of the season averaging 5.3 points per game.
